Layers of geometry, pattern, and metallic detail give Blue Arabesque an elegant presence at the Court Street entrance to Baldwin Brass. Artist-in-residence Suzanne Fellows introduced students to the visual traditions of Islamic art as the foundation for the design.

About the Project
The project brought together Wyomissing Area High School art students with children and staff from the learning center. Portrait imagery gives the mural its personality, while tiles made by the children themselves become part of the finished surface. The work celebrates youth not only as its subject, but as active contributors to the artwork.
Fortunately, the mural was completed during the winter of 2019-20, before school was closed due to the Covid-19 quarantine.
