Escape
Escape is an anamorphic mural, meaning the design creates an optical illusion of fish swimming out of a square opening when viewed from a specific vantage point. The wall is best viewed as you come down Cherry St. from the West. The background features a colorful quatrefoil design of patterns designed by student artists.

About the Project
The core group of students who created this project were enrolled in the week long Summer STEAM Academy at West Reading Elementary Center. After spending time looking at the mural collection on Cherry Street and discussing the unique location of the wall, it was decided to create an anamorphic drawing of fish escaping from a opening. This drawing is superimposed over a rich quatrefoil pattern. Each student created their own quatrefoil design inspired by personal interests.
