About the Project
The project began with an invitation from former Reading mayor and Reutlingen Partnership organizer Thomas McMahon. Because collaboration was central to the work, the pretzel became a shared cultural starting point that many artists could interpret in their own way. Joshua Brightbill traveled to Reutlingen to represent Reading and install the collection.Inspired by this project, Reutlingen art teacher Suzanna Immer organized a collection with her students and sent them back to us in Reading. They are included in the Berks Pretzel Collection.
